SUMMARY:Carin Bloom Presents: “Not the Most Unhappy of All Creation”
DESCRIPTION:Historian Carin Bloom portrays the wife of General Nathanael Greene in celebration of the grand opening of the Francis Marion Interpretive Center on the 250th anniversary of the Lexington and Concord Battles\nThe Georgetown County 250 Committee invites you to the grand opening of the Francis Marion Interpretive Center at the Georgetown County Museum, 120 Broad Street, Georgetown. At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 Historian Carin Bloom will set the stage for the ribbon cutting, making history come alive as she portrays Catharine Greene, wife of General Nathanael Greene.\nThe date was carefully selected to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolutionary War at the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Little could Mrs. Greene know then that her husband would eventually command the successful Southern Campaign, turn the tide of the war for American independence right here in South Carolina, and at last win the war with the help of another unknown General, Francis Marion.\nYou are guaranteed to become immersed in the world of the American Revolutionary War as witnessed and lived vicariously by Catharine Greene. This will be one event not to be missed. Light colonial refreshments will be served during the intermission between the educational portrayal of Mrs. Nathanael Greene and the grand opening ceremony for the Francis Marion Interpretive Center with an estimated end time of 12:30 p.m.\n \n
