July 5 – The Great Georgetown Cookout! This free community cookout is modeled after America’s Potluck, but without the potluck dishes! This event is an opportunity for neighbors to come together to share a communal meal with hamburgers and hot dogs, that invites us to slow down, serve others, and connect with others.

Additional events are being planned for the remainder of 2026 and 2027, including Lafayette Days, June 12-13, 2027, to highlight that Georgetown is the only place that can claim to be where Marquis de Lafayette first set foot in America. A ball, landing reenactment, and parade are being planned as part of a globally recognized event to honor the beginning of Lafayette’s journey into American history.
